  6. Example: 
  7. You have three text files: mytext1, mytext2 and mytext3. 
  8. You want to replace the string “print” in these files by the “write”.
  9. ______________________________________________________________
  10. Solution with the help of PowerReplace:
  11.  
  12. (1) Create a text file using any text editor and write the following line in it:
  13. "print" "write"
  14. Name this file “SimpleFilter” and save it.
  15.  
  16. (2) Open PowerReplace, select the menu “File/Make Filter File”. The “Make PowerReplace Filter File” window will appear.  If necessary you can use Balloons Help system.

  27. (3) Click the button “Choose File ...”, and select the file “SimpleFilter” that you have created at (1). Check the name “SimpleFilter” appear in the window.

  60. (4) Click the button “Make”. The “SimpleFilter” will be turned into a filter file. A progress indicator window will appear during a short time. That is OK.

  62. (5) Click the button “Exit” to quit “Make PowerReplace Filter File” window. Then quit PowerReplace application by selecting the Menu “File/Quit”.

  64. (6) Put the file “SimpleFilter” into the “Filter” Folder for later use.

  85. (7) Open PowerReplace. After confirming that there is an item “SimpleFilter” in the menu “Filter”, select it.

  100. (8) Under Finder, select your files (mytext1, mytext2 and mytext3), drag and drop them onto the PowerReplace icon. That is all.
